Take a WALK in My Flats

“Before you judge my life, my past or my character. Walk in my SHOES, walk the path I have traveled, live in my sorrow, my doubts, my fear, my pain and my laughter. Remember EVERYONE has a STORY. When you’ve lived my life then you can judge me.” -Unknown

walkingclipartPerhaps you may have noticed that all of my posts so far have been jewelry, shoes, or beauty products, and that I have not featured any clothing so far. There is a reasoning behind that and it’s not that I don’t like clothes! Ha! If you read my About Me section then you know that in the past year and a half now, I’ve lost a little over 80 pounds. In that time, I’ve dropped many dress sizes. Being the frugal person that I am, I couldn’t see buying a new wardrobe each time I went down a size, so I did a lot of accessorizing. Thus, my love of jewelry and shoes AND why I’ve been featuring them so much on the blog. I am still not at my goal weight so I have not splurged on a new wardrobe yet, so the easiest way for me to spruce up what I have and change up my outfits that I do have is to change my shoes and accessories. I have a lot of black in my closet and a few core pieces so I change up my shoes and jewelry to try and make it look different.

With all of the above being said, this week’s topic is about shoes….TADAAAAAHHHH!

I work in a business casual environment with mainly men. None of the women wear heels so I would feel weird if I did, plus, hey, if it’s acceptable to wear flats during the week, I’ll take it. I’ll save my heel walking feet for the weekends!!!

I usually have to buy a new pair of black flats every few months because they wear out from every day wear and commuting to and from work in the city; so, I do not like to spend a whole lot of money on them since I go through them so frequently. However, I still like them to be cute.

I found a pair at Target, probably a few months ago, that I really wanted, however, they were $27.99. It’s getting harder and harder these days to find a pair that are cute, affordable and comfortable. So, I thought about buying them but ultimately passed. A couple of trips back to Target and I strolled the shoe aisle again and they not only still had my size but it was on clearance for $8.98. NOT KIDDING!!! They currently have them on clearance online for $13.98. Not sure why there is a price difference between what I got in the store and what is listed online, but $13.98 is still a great deal for these flats.

The shoes are made from a new brand Target is carrying called Sam & Libby. I’m really digging all of the shoes this line is putting out. They are a little pricier than what Target usually runs, however, if I could always roll the dice and get this lucky…man that would be awesome!

Check them out…they are comfortable and cute!

The moral of this weeks Found It Friday is if you find something you like and the price is not in the range you are looking for then don’t make an impulse decision and buy the item unless it’s truly something you can’t live without. I’m very happy I waited and got these on clearance. Almost everything goes on sale at one point or another….

Till next week…Xx!

P.S. Just a heads up…if it all works out…I do have plans to be featuring a shirt coming up soon (and it’s NOT black)!!!

Are these really comfortable enough for all day? I’m afraid my legs will hate me! Love your blog 🙂

    • Jane, THANK YOU so much for taking the time to read my blog. It means a lot to me!
And, yes, these flats really are comfortable. I walk 6 city blocks in them to get to my bus stop in the morning for my commute to work and work all day in them and then walk 6 city blocks home to my bus stop to commute home. HOWEVER, with that being said, at my job I am sitting, standing and walking around as opposed to you who is standing ALL day..so that should be taken into consideration. If you are used to a shoe with lots of support then you may want to save a shoe like this for lunch with a friend or church- rather than standing ALL day at work. 🙂
